I was looking at the wrong moment.
During the course of working beside autistic children and their families across homes, classrooms, stores, playgrounds, and community settings, I noticed something important.

The fidget toy, the headphones, security blanket, and the adult attending to their needs could all be useful but only when each had a clear job inside a larger process.
So I built a system that helps parents understand how to address sensory needs before difficult moments arise, prepare for them earlier, make the child a part of their own support system in the moment, and adjust what happens next.
